Step 1: MaskingWe mask any areas on the bumper that are not meant to be painted just like from the factory. In this case, the WRX front bumper has a grille that is meant to be left unpainted.
Step 2: Scuff/ PrepAll parts are then scuffed and prepped to ensure proper adhesion. Depending on the part, this is done use a very fine sandpaper.
STEP 3: CleaningOnce in the booth, the part is properly cleaned to prevent any contamination and to ensure nothing is on the part.
Step 4: Adhesion PromoterMany parts come as a reinforced raw plastic. We apply a product called Plastic Adhesive Promoter which allows the sealer to properly bond to the scuffed plastic.
Step 5: SealerA sealer or primer (depending on the material of part) is then applied.
STEP 6: BasecoatThree (3) coats of base paint are used and painted to coverage. We use the highest quality materials to ensure a long lasting, factory paint job for your new parts.
Step 7: ClearcoatFinally, two (2) coats of clearcoat are applied to protect the paint from UV, road debris, and other damaging effects.
Step 8: PackagingOnce painted, all parts are then polished, powdered (protects the paint in the bubble wrap), and carefully packaged to ensure your new part arrives safely!
